On the afternoon of December 9, 2020, at the 51st meeting of the National Assembly Standing Committee, 100% of the members voted to pass a Resolution on the arrangement of administrative units at district and commune levels and the establishment of a city. Thu Duc belongs to Ho Chi Minh City.
Thu Duc City belongs to Ho Chi Minh City on the basis of importing the entire natural area and population of 3 districts, which is District 2; District 9 and Thu Duc district. After its establishment, Thu Duc City has 211.56 km2 of natural area and a population of 1,013,795 people.
In 2019, all 3 districts developed at high speed, contributing 1/3 of the gross regional product (GRDP) of Ho Chi Minh City, equivalent to about 7% of the country's gross domestic product (GDP).
As soon as the establishment information of Thu Duc city was announced, the housing price fever broke out. Real estate brokerage service boomed with strong activity. All over the streets, cafes in Thu Duc District, District 9 ... everywhere are talking about hunting for real estate to welcome the establishment of the city.
Prices skyrocketed
