Ho Chi Minh City Department of Tourism said that although in August, international visitors to the city only reached more than 350,000 because it was not yet the peak season to welcome international visitors (peak from late September, early October to April next year), but In eight months of the year, the city's tourism industry welcomed more than 2.71 million visitors.

 

Compared to the same period last year, this number increased by 92.3% and reached 54.3% of the yearly plan.

The number of international visitors to Ho Chi Minh City currently accounts for nearly 30% of the total number of international visitors to Vietnam.

 

Specifically, data recently released by the General Statistics Office shows that international visitors to Vietnam in 8 months reached 1.2 million visitors, an increase of 17.2% compared to the previous month.

 

In the first 8 months, international visitors to the country reached more than 7.8 million arrivals, 5.4 times higher than the same period last year.

However, this number is only equal to 69.2% of the same period in 2019, a year before the COVID-19 epidemic. Of the total number of international visitors to Vietnam in 8 months, visitors arriving by air reached nearly 6.9 million people, accounting for 87.6% of international visitors to Vietnam, the remainder were visitors arriving by road and by air. sea.

 

The number of international visitors is positive, along with positive growth in domestic tourists, helping travel revenue increase sharply compared to the same period last year, tourism demand increases during the peak season and localities actively Deploying many activities to stimulate tourism demand.
