It is expected that by December 2023, metro line 1 (Ben Thanh - Suoi Tien) will be tested for the whole route.

The Management Board of Urban Railways (MAUR) has just reported to the People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City and the City Department of Transport on the development of a plan to implement key contents in 2023 related to metro line No. 1.

According to MAUR, up to now, the total volume of metro No. 1 project has reached 95.39%. In which, the completion tasks of the bidding packages have also been detailed.

Metro No. 1 will test the entire line in December 2023.

Specifically, package CP1a (underground section from Ben Thanh station - TP Theater station) will be completed in October-October 23. Package CP1b (Ho Chi Minh City Theater Station to Ba Son Station) will be completed in September 2023 and Package CP2 (elevated section and depot) will be completed in October 2023.

The trial run of the whole route will be carried out in September 2023. Trial exploitation of the whole route will be completed in December 2023. Training for employees to be completed by December 2023.

Currently, MAUR is carrying out many tasks to accelerate the remaining construction works. For example, completing the construction work of the project, completing the installation of the remaining mechanical and electrical system equipment of the CP3 contractor. Conduct test steps, trial operation and test operation for each section and for the entire route.

In addition, MAUR will coordinate with the Vietnam Register to carry out the registration of vessels. Coordinating with the Police Department for Fire Prevention, Fighting and Rescue to inspect and accept the project.

At the same time, continue to implement operation and maintenance training. Develop procedures, norms and unit prices for operation and maintenance.
