The flow of foreign direct investment (FDI) in the whole year of 2022 registered in the "real estate industry" in Vietnam increased sharply.
A report from the Foreign Investment Department (Ministry of Planning and Investment) said that as of December 20, the total registered foreign direct investment (FDI) capital in Vietnam reached nearly 27.72 billion USD, down 11%. compared to 2021. Although newly registered investment capital decreased, the number of new investment projects increased and adjusted investment capital also increased over the same period. Particularly, disbursed FDI capital was about 22.4 billion USD, up 13.5% compared to last year.
Foreign investors have poured capital into 19 industries out of a total of 21 national economic sectors. In which, the processing and manufacturing industry leads the way with a total investment of more than 16.8 billion USD, accounting for 60.6% of the total registered investment capital. The industry business real estate ranked second with a total investment of more than 4.45 billion USD, accounting for 16.1% of the total registered investment capital. Next are the electricity production and distribution industries; scientific and technological activities with registered capital of more than 2.26 billion USD and nearly 1.29 billion USD respectively.
In particular, although the total FDI capital into Vietnam this year decreased, the capital inflow into the real estate sector increased sharply. Specifically, foreign capital into Vietnam's real estate sector in 2022 has increased by 1.85 billion USD, equivalent to an increase of more than 70% compared to the whole year of 2021.
