Vietnam is having solutions to create maximum conditions for international tourists to visit our country.


From March 15, 2022, Vietnam officially opens to international visitors under new normal conditions. This is a milestone that has been drafted by the Government, ministries and sectors, and has been carefully prepared by businesses for the past few months. Domestic public opinion also paid special attention to the date of restoring international tourism activities after the period of closure due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

 

 

 


Visa-free entry to Vietnam for citizens of some countries from March 15

 

The government has decided to exempt visas for citizens of 13 countries, including Germany, France, Italy, Spain, the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, the Russian Federation, Japan, Korea, Denmark, and Sweden. , Norway, Finland, Belarus when entering Vietnam. The duration of temporary stay is 15 days from the date of entry, regardless of passport type, entry purpose, on the basis of satisfying all conditions as prescribed by Vietnamese law. The visa exemption policy for citizens of the above countries is implemented for 3 years, from March 15, 2022 to March 14, 2025 and will be considered for extension in accordance with Vietnamese law.


Previously, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism also proposed to restore the policy on entry visas for international visitors that was implemented before 2020. Vietnam previously exempted 13 countries from unilateral visas, and however for 88 countries/territories. However, due to the outbreak of the disease from 2020, the Government has issued a resolution to stop implementing this mechanism.

 

 

 

In addition, the Ministry of Culture proposes that passengers entering via air can choose to have a PCR test that is valid for 72 hours or a quick test result that is valid for 24 hours before arriving in Vietnam.

 

After entry, guests go directly to the registered accommodation and are not allowed to interact with the community; rapid testing at the property, within 24 hours of entry. In case of negative results, guests are allowed to participate in tourism activities in the form of free choice of destination.
