Saigon One Tower, formerly known as Saigon M&C Building, was started construction in the fourth quarter of 2008 with a total investment of 256 million USD (equivalent to 5,000 billion VND), with the hope of becoming one of the most iconic symbols of Saigon. of the most populous city in Vietnam.

 

The project has an area of ​​​​more than 6,672 m2, according to the initial design, the building will have a podium which is a 6-storey commercial and service center, an international standard office block with 34 floors and a block of high-class apartments.

The land has a prime location when it is located at the beginning of the Ben Nghe - Tau Hu canal, the intersection of Ton Duc Thang - Ham Nghi - Vo Van Kiet, the tunnel crossing the Saigon River, the Khanh Hoi bridge.

 

Within a radius of about 1 km, right next to this building are prominent works of Ho Chi Minh City such as Nguyen Hue pedestrian street, Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee, Ben Thanh market, Metro No. 1, Bach Dang wharf, Saigon riverside park. , Thu Thiem 2 Bridge, Khanh Hoi Bridge and Thu Thiem New Urban Area..

Currently, this building with "golden position" is about to be restarted when it belongs to a new investor, Viva Land Investment and Development Joint Stock Company. Viva Land is a real estate development and investment company. Established in 2019, the company's charter capital is 2,000 billion VND, present in Vietnam and Singapore.

Different from a few months ago, now a number of barriers around the construction have been dismantled, workers are busy cleaning, transporting construction materials and accessories inside the construction site.

 

 

From the outside, the concrete slabs of the building were dull, the iron and steel were rusted and seriously degraded. During many years of being abandoned, this project not only wasted land resources but also lost the urban beauty of the city for many years.

 

 

Previously, the Saigon One Tower project was expected to be one of the iconic buildings in the center of Ho Chi Minh City, will be one of the three tallest buildings in the city, just behind Bitexco (68 floors) and The One (68 floors). 55 floors), before Vingroup's Landmark 81 appeared in 2019.

However, after starting construction in 2007, by the end of 2011 the project has stopped construction until now.

 

 

At night, when the buildings in the center are shimmering with lights, Saigon One Tower is like a "black spot" that detracts from the beauty of the downtown area of ​​District 1.

 

 

After 10 years of "covering the blanket", the building was started construction again. When completed, the project is expected to be a piece to complete the panorama of a magnificent Saigon.
