After a long time of absence of tourists, Thao Dien area (Thu Duc City, Ho Chi Minh City) gradually regained its vibrant rhythm when welcoming a large number of foreigners coming to play and eat every weekend.

From 6pm, the shops along Xuan Thuy Street (Thu Duc City, Ho Chi Minh City) start to light up with loud music. The seats inside quickly filled up, causing the shops to arrange more tables and chairs outside.

A restaurant decorated in Mexican culture is full from 7pm onwards. Groups of guests come in and out, causing staff and managers to work at full capacity to arrange seating and serve diners.

Thuy Vy (27 years old), manager of a craft beer bar on Xuan Thuy Street (Thu Duc City, Ho Chi Minh City), said that the number of international visitors to the shop gradually increased from April 2022. Previously, this place welcomed mainly patrons, living nearby. “The number of foreigners coming to the shop accounts for about 30%. A few months ago, this number was only 10-20%. Compared to the time of the gap, the restaurants in this area are regaining their vitality and working harder to remove revenue," Vy shared.

Thao Dien is a familiar destination for expats living in Ho Chi Minh City every weekend and holiday. There are many restaurants, cafes, bars decorated in Western style, suitable for foreign guests..

Many people choose an open-air outdoor space to enjoy the cool evening and comfortably talk with friends.

This is the first time Phil (25 years old) and Amy (24 years old), both British, come to Vietnam. After spending the day walking around Thao Dien, they stopped at a Western restaurant. Both said they plan to stay here for 2 years to work. “It is very cold in England, so when we arrived here, the weather was too hot so we could not adapt. I find the street quite bustling and there are many fun and entertainment activities. After the work is arranged, I will spend time to explore Vietnam", Phi shared with Zing.

Dunon Christopher (29 years old, American), working in an education company, stopped by a familiar beer bar to have a meal and meet friends. Having lived in Vietnam for 15 years, he does not feel unfamiliar with the holiday of the Hung Kings' death anniversary. “It's good that tourism is reopened, now I can meet friends from other countries. The atmosphere in the restaurant is much busier, so I plan to stay in the city to enjoy the day off," Christopher said.

.From March 15, Vietnam tourism officially opened to international visitors with a series of loosened regulations. This is considered a good sign for food service business people in Tay Thao Dien Street.

At night, the number of foreigners flocking to Thao Dien becomes more crowded when dining venues and bars extend their opening hours to welcome diners.
